This post is very freeing. I'm still shooting on an AE-1 and am soon to purchase a Canon Kiss X2 (Digital Rebel in North America. I'm currently living in Japan.) I'm really looking forward to 2 things: 1. Auto and 2. a cheaper and quicker workflow (no scanning negatives!). Your post has helped me understand the difference in priority modes.
